Check with the post office for any mail they are holding for you.

Change your drivers license address or get a new one if necessary.

Register your car in your new area, if required.

Register your children in school.

If you have small children, plan to accompany them to school the first few days and arrange to meet their teacher(s).

Contact the Chamber of Commerce or Visitors Bureau in your new town and request information on parks and recreation, community calendars, maps of the area, etc.

Record emergency phone numbers such as fire/police, ambulance, nearest hospital.

Arrange appointments with doctor(s), dentist and veterinarian - before you, your family and your pets need them.

Register to vote.
